There is no Starbucks in Dingle

….and neither will you encounter the ubiquitous and repetitive H&M, or any of its High Street relatives.

Dingle (Daingean Ui Chuis) in County Kerry is a vibrant and independent town. I have never met an idle person here. Tourists flock to Dingle from the United States and  Europe, and are guaranteed an annual welcome to spectacular scenery, rich musical heritage, and some of the finest seafood restaurants, supplied daily from the wild and crashing Atlantic shore.

This is Alex Ellis-Roswell. He is on a major walk around the coasts of Ireland and the UK; his mission is to raise funds for the lifeboats operating in all those coastal regions. When we met in Begley’s in Ballydavid on 5th March, his hard-earned funds had reached £15,000.

Lean ort ag siul, Alex, agus rath De ort.

Carry on the good work Alex, and may God’s cloak protect you from the Atlantic gales.
